The Birkin’s 24X18 (framed 26X20)

“The Birkin’s” painting inspired by Hermès Birkin handbag created in 1984 after Jean-Louis Dumas, Hermes Executive Chairman had a chance encounter with British actress and singer Jane Birkin who complained about needing a bag large enough to carry her essentials and those of her young children. 

This painting is a tribute to Jane and the bag she inspired. I have used the Birkin’s locking buckle as a collar and a Twilly scarf sometimes used to wrap the handle of the bag. Jane Birkin (1946-2023) Jean-Louis Dumas (1934-2010)
